"He's Got More Money Than God": Former Teammate Emotionally Defends Cristiano Ronaldo

Throughout his career, Cristiano Ronaldo has often been labeled as egocentric by critics. However, a former teammate holds a different opinion.

Rio Ferdinand has shielded his former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo from accusations of arrogance after Ronaldo recently declared himself the greatest footballer of all time.

Rio Ferdinand defends Cristiano Ronaldo:
"People sometimes need to understand that when they watch him, they think he's the highest-paid player, a good-looking guy who is bound to be selfish, etc. That is far from the truth," the former United teammate said in an interview with the BBC.

"He is a man who wants to be remembered forever. He has achieved nothing less than greatness. He has redefined the records in so many different categories of the sport – physically, he has taken the game to another planet, into another stratosphere. What he has achieved, what he does, his age, his consistency over so many years."

Ronaldo doesn't need "to prove anything to anyone. He's got more money than God. He's won more trophies than most others. He's scored the most goals. He still wants to push himself, always looking for that one percent more to be the best. He's just different."

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner recently stated in an interview with La Sexta that he considers himself the greatest footballer of all time. "I am the most complete player that has ever existed. I believe that I am. That's the taste. I do everything, I'm good with my head, I take good free kicks, I shoot well with my left, I'm fast, strong. To say Cristiano isn't complete is a lie. I am the most complete!"

Ronaldo's remarks have once again sparked debate over whether his pursuit of personal records overshadows his contributions to the team. In the past, critics have often portrayed him as egocentric for this reason.

Cristiano Ronaldo Still Without Contract Extension:
Although he continues to dominate on the field, Ronaldo has not yet extended his contract with Al-Nassr, which expires at the end of the season. However, it has been reported that the Saudi club is preparing a lucrative contract extension that could see Ronaldo earning 550,000 euros per day.
